Industrial Wastewater Treatment: AECL successfully introduced local technology based Wastewater Treatment plant in Bangladesh in 1997. This technology is very cost effective in terms of chemical consumption, energy efficiency and space consumption. AECL installed largest number of the Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) in different industries since last ten years in Bangladesh. The activities involved the design, construction supervision, commissioning, monitoring after commissioning and training for company staffs regarding the operation & maintenance of ETP.

International Collaboration with AECL    

  • i) GreenTech Resources Ltd. is an environment consultant firm in the United Kingdom having vast experience in the field of waste water treatment. GreenTech is located at 101 Mallard Walk, Sidcup, Kent DA14 6SG, UK. GTRL is now offering a sophisticated Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), which consumes less space, lower in operation cost, highly sophisticated (automatic), less chemical consuming and comparatively lower in price.

ii) AECL had a joint venture with Sloth Moller Consulting Engineers Ltd, Denmark in the name of “Sloth Moller Engineers Bangladesh Ltd. (SMEBL)”. Sloth Moller is a Danish Company provides complete solutions for the Waste Water Treatment for Domestic and Industrial use. SMEBL offers a sophisticated Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), which consumes less space, lower in operation cost, highly sophisticated (automatic), less chemical consuming and comparatively lower in price.SMEBL completed successfully the following projects:


  • Effluent Treatment Plant of Noman Fabrics Ltd. (Plant Capacity 30 M3/HR)
  • Effluent Treatment Plant of Talha Texpo Ltd (Plant Capacity 60 m3/hr)
  • Effluent Treatment Plant of HR Textiles Ltd (Plant Capacity 100 m3/hr)
  • Effluent Treatment Plant of Barnali Fabrics Ltd (Plant Capacity 30 m3/hr)
  • iii) AECL also worked with an American Engineering Company namely Blackwell Engineering, PLC. Blackwell Engineering is a Company based on integrity, values and faith. Blackwell Engineering has grown significantly since its conception in 1988 by Richard (Dick) Blackwell, Jr.  Dick Blackwell was joined in ownership by his sons, Ed Blackwell in the late 1980’s and Rick Blackwell in the early 1990’s. The firm concentrated on land planning, site design, drainage and erosion control design, subdivisions, water and sewage facilities, and alternative septic systems. Blackwell Engineering in collaboration with AECL has implemented the following project:
