Project Overview
Since January 2021, our team has been serving as Third Party Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Consultant for environmental safeguards under Package # BRWTP-S12/3 of the Bangladesh Regional Waterway Transport Project 1.
The project, funded by the World Bank and implemented by the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), focuses on dredging activities along the Chittagong–Dhaka–Ashuganj Inland Water Transport (IWT) Corridor, along with associated linked routes and construction of terminals with allied infrastructure.
Our role ensures that environmental safeguards are properly monitored, evaluated, and implemented, providing independent verification for compliance with national regulations and World Bank safeguard policies.

Is responsible for regulating and developing inland waterways in Bangladesh. Through this World Bank-financed project, BIWTA aims to enhance sustainable and efficient water transport while ensuring environmental and social safeguards are fully implemented.

- Third-party monitoring and evaluation of environmental safeguards compliance
- Verification of environmental mitigation measures implemented by project contractors
- Assessment of compliance with national regulations and World Bank safeguard policies
- Preparation of monitoring reports and recommendations for improvement
- Support for adaptive management to minimize environmental impacts
- Stakeholder consultations and documentation of environmental performance
